Your customers are responsible for installing the software (or your responsibility). That software will need to be kept updated and patched, so Unmanaged VPS requires familiarity with the command line and a good level of technical understanding. Unmanaged VPS is extremely versatile: the only limits are the resources your customers choose and their technical ability to manage the server.

While having many of the same advantages as an Unmanaged VPS, Managed VPS offers more convenience and unique features that can’t be found anywhere else. Like Unmanaged VPS, your customers can choose a package based on cores, RAM, and storage. Unlike Unmanaged, Managed VPS is fully supported by the team. So if your customer has an issue you can’t resolve, we can help. They can only be used for web hosting and only use the CentOS 7 operating system. They’re controlled in your customers’ control panel: StackCP. This is a huge advantage over Unmanaged VPS. While it’s possible to install a web hosting control panel (like cPanel or Plesk) on an Unmanaged VPS, they don’t offer the same level of features and user experience. They’re also not free, unlike StackCP!.

A VPS is a more affordable and better value option. Like dedicated hosting, it guarantees you dedicated resources but instead of owning or hiring a physical server, your server is ‘virtual’. We use virtualization technology to install a layer on top of the operating system (OS) of the server that divides it into secure partitions. One VPS could be running at full capacity, but it wouldn’t impact the performance of other VPS on the same physical server.
